Raising A Reader? I hope so!

Bubboo’s Daddy visited Bangalore over the weekend, and a lot of father-daughter bonding happened. Both of them made up for lost time by competing for the other’s attention. 🙂

Some book-buying also happened, for myself as well as for Bubboo’s library. Then, some father-daughter book reading happened too.

My heart melted into little puddles of slush, several times over.

  1. How cute, how cute! Reading together is one of the best things you could do with your kid. 😀 Mum did a lot of that and look how well I turned out? 😛 *smug face*

  2. Aww! How adorable is that! I love how you are consciously building her library. I never did that with daughter. I did buy her books, but never thought so far ahead.

I agree I am consciously building up a library for Bubboo, but am not too conscious either. I am just buying books for her, in the hopes that both of us will enjoy some quality reading time together and that she will, later, get into full-fledged reading on her own.

I am not consciously choosing titles. I am just letting the books happen to us – both to me and Bubboo.

I don’t know if I am making sense here.

      Thanks a lot! 🙂

I got some Dr. Seuss books for her, as well as some children’s classics like Heidi, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and the like.

The husband gifted me the entire Paddington Bear series a couple of years ago, which I hope to read to Bubboo. That, and the few Enid Blyton books that I have.

A few friends gifted me alphabet books and animal identification books that I can read along with Bubboo. Another blog friend had sent over The Hungry Caterpillar for her.

I hope this helps. I hope to write about this in detail as we progress in terms of reading together. 🙂 Fingers crossed!
