Look At What Just Arrived From Delhi…

… with the OH, who was away on a work trip.

Delhi carrots and black carrots…

…cape gooseberries or ‘rasbhari’ or physalis peruviana

… and paneer, of course.

I am thrilled at the riot of colours in my kitchen today, and am wondering away at the myriad cooking options that these new foods have opened up to me.

Ideas, please?

Gajar ka halwa done and dusted. πŸ˜€

I am still not sure what to do with the black carrots.

For the paneer, palak paneer is a great option, yes. Otherwise, paneer parathas and paneer butter masala. πŸ™‚

Gajar halwa is being made by Amma in the kitchen now, even as I am typing out this comment. I am clueless about what to do with the black carrots, though.

Paneer sabzi or paratha and rasbhari chutney will soon be made, hopefully. πŸ™‚

      1. You can make kaanji out of it cut them of finger lengths and then blanch them in hot water strain the water and take some rai or rayee and soak it in water for 2 hrs then make a fine paste of it then take a jar made of porcelain or glass put some paste into the jar with salt and little bit of redchilli powder and then add blanched carrots and lot of water in it and let it rest in sunlight for 2-3 days and then water will turn sour and your kaanji is ready to slurppp😊
