Dastkar loot! :)

So, we did make it to the Dastkar Nature Bazar last weekend. We had a great time. πŸ™‚

The exhibition was lovely, though it could have been a bit better managed, in terms of waterproof tents (considering that it rains almost every day in Bangalore now). Some of the stuff was quite reasonably priced, while the prices of some other goodies were sky-high. The food court was extremely blah! too.

And now, here’s what we brought home from the fair.

I’ve always lusted after tea pots, and made this blue beauty my own. Cute, na? Oh, and the rope table mat is from the fair, too.
Couldn't resist that bright yellow and the brilliant sound that this Karnataka-made rattle makes!

A colourful train, again from a Karnataka stall.

  1. My oh my! Those toys! I want to go to Chennapatna to buy wooden toys. They are beautiful! So so beautiful!
I love the tea pot too, especially the ideas that come with it πŸ™‚
I miss all these goodies here 😦 Ah well, one can’t have it all!

I didn’t have any ideas when I picked up the teapot, actually. I just bought it because I have always lusted for one, and this one seemed too cute to pass away. Now, though, you guys are giving me ideas. πŸ™‚

      Thanks, Kismi. πŸ™‚

I love wooden toys, too. I would buy them any day over plastic ones.

  2. The tea pot is Adorable πŸ™‚ there’s a similar exhibition run by kalakshetra in chennai. It’s called dastkari haat. I’ve picked up some lovely stuff there. The venue is amazing. It’s interesting to just roam around. You should check it out! It’s just after navrathri I think!

  3. Sounds nice! Wanted to go but too far and was too lazy to spend an entire weekend on it! πŸ˜€

You must visit Shilparamam when you visit Hyderabad. It is an year-round Dastkar exhibition types place. You’ll love it, methinks.

It is a lovely exhibition. Do try to go – it is on next weekend, too. πŸ™‚

I have heard a lot about Shilparamam. I have a feeling I will love that, too. Will definitely visit whenever I am in Hyderabad next.
