Of imagined black drongo conversations

There has been an addition to the list of our feathered friends – a bunch of black drongos. They create a huge ruckus in the ‘Akasha Mallige’ tree adjacent to our house, providing us with some wonderful photo ops and a lot of entertainment. πŸ™‚

I only have to watch them in action for a story to play out in my mind, mostly thanks to Birdwali Aunty’s bird chronicles. The OH and I share laughs over the stories along with our morning tea, these days.

Here is one such morning story.

She sat next to me! She sat next to me! She sat next to me!
She looked at me! Yoohoo!
Should I pop the question? Or shouldn’t I?
Well, I guess there’s no harm in asking. Will you marry me, darling?
Why did she have to be so rude? ‘Shaadi? Aur tum se? Huh. Kabhi bhi nahi!’ it seems!
I shouldn’t have asked. Boohoo!

Do you have balcony tales of your own to tell? Do share them! I would love to hear! πŸ™‚
