The flower show at Lal Bagh is an event I try never to miss – it is full of beautiful flowers, great themes every year, and heaven for photography enthusiasts. The fact that there are HUGE crowds at the show each year does not deter us. This year, too, as soon as we heard that the flower show was going to start, we made up our minds to visit it, and did so at the earliest opportunity, which happened to be yesterday. Boy, is the show amazing! I am always amazed by the talent of the artisans who develop the various displays of flowers all over Lal Bagh, as well as the centrepieces.
This year, the theme was ‘Animals’. The pièce de résistance this time around was a flower-y dinosaur, a flower hut, flower ducks, and a family of flower giant pandas.
Here are some pictures from the show, for your viewing pleasure…
Beautiful Pics… perfectly capturing the mood of flower show in Lal Bagh. True to its name, there is a lot ‘lal’ in the Bagh… 🙂

Loved the dinosaur! I had planned to go too but the crowd sure is a deterrent. But these pics make me want to go. Maybe this 15th. Am sure the crowd will be no less then 🙂

If the newspaper reports are anything to go by, even larger crowds are expected on Independence Day than there was over the weekend. 🙂 That said, you should go to the show. It is a must-experience. You could try going on a weekday or go really early on August 15 if you want a little less crowd.

Hats off to you TGND, for clicking the pics so beautifully and sharing with us 🙂
We went there yesterday, the crowd just kept pushing and jostling so much that we were not able to get the flowers clicked nicely 😦
So what did I do? I put the camera safely back in my bag, and enjoyed the visual treat imprinting the beauty in my memory 😀

That’s the best thing to do, actually, if the crowd is like that. When we went, it was comparitively OK, and that is why I managed to get some good pics. 🙂

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I couldn’t make it 😦 I was so caught up with stuff, that I haven’t stepped out of the house beyond going to the local grocery store. So thank you for bringing the flower show to us 🙂 Daughter loved seeing your pictures- both of us love plants and flowers, and your pics are just gorgeous!
Btw, I ended up in a nursery nearby and picked up some essential greenery to keep us going until we have the time to go and pick up plants properly 🙂 We also planted some zinnia and marigold seeds that I had with me.

I understand how busy you would be with setting up house and shopping for various things. Anyways, the flower show is on till August 15th – you can still go there!
Just realised that I should have asked you to get some seeds of your favourite plants from the UK – something that can grow in Bangalore weather. It would have been such a lovely thing to do, to bring a piece of my beloved UK to my city. 🙂 I love bringing back seeds from all the places that I visit. 🙂

Oh TGND,
These are so lovely 🙂 I know what you mean by crowd – infact, I would feel a bit sad about the crowd part too but I would still do what you did – go to the show ! There were some amazing flower shows this time here that we missed. I won’t miss it next year by God’s Grace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
