We’re back home…

… and a tad overwhelmed with all that has to be done at home and at work, but are loving it! 🙂

Last week, we crossed off one of the big items on our bucket lists – a trip to Kashmir. Both the OH and I had always wanted to see Kashmir, but never got around to it. It was one of those things that we kept saying we will do ‘someday’, but never did. Till, some time back, we decided that we are going to do this, this time around, no matter what. And we did. Yay to that! 🙂

The Kashmir experience was, overall, good, with loads of new experiences. We are excited that we finally fulfilled one of our dreams, but are also a tad disillusioned with the difference between the pristine, untarnished image of Kashmir that we had in our minds and the extremely touristy, commercial Kashmir that we just returned from.

We couldn’t visit the whole of Kashmir this time – we just went to Srinagar, Sonamarg, Pahalgam and Gulmarg. Another trip has to be made to cover the other interesting places that we left out – Leh, Ladakh, Katra, Kargil and the likes.

There are a lot of travel tales to tell, and a lot of pictures to share. I will be back with the stories once I get my head a little bit above all the chores that need to be finished.

Hope you all have been doing great! I need to get back to reading all the posts on your blogs that I have missed out on too. 🙂

  3. Wow, Kashmir!!!! We are waiting for the travel post…
i’ve been to kashmir with my parents as a child but sadly can’t remember anything. Though photos show that we had a lot of fun and the place was very beautiful 🙂
Ladakh is also very beautiful but in a different way, road trip to Leh was our last vacation before Zini arrived 🙂

  5. wow wow!! Would love to have a detailed blogpost(s) on Kashmir. Husband and I were planning to go there this summer but did not get bookings. Our agent told us Pahalgam is really nice…so waiting for some first hand f/b from someone who’s just returned from there.
I suppose Leh and ladakh would have been too much along with the other places. A week extra?
Glad u had a good trip.

    1. @Aparna

We could take only a week off work, so couldn’t do Leh and Ladakh this time around. Yes, maybe trying to cover the whole of Kashmir in one shot would have been a tad hectic. I am glad we saw only part of it this time around. Gives us a chance to go there again. 🙂

Would be glad to be of help with any info that you might require.

  7. Wow! A trip to Kashmir 🙂 We had debated between Kashmir and North east for our recent vacation and finally settled for NE. Certainly on our “to visit” list too. Waiting to see your pics and hear your travel stories 🙂
