Petrichor

Parched

The earth

Calls out

Dark, heavy

The tired sky

Showers his bounty

Then

Relieved, glad

He lightens

Sated

She sighs her gratitude

Petrichor rises

The union

Beautiful

Unparallelled

  1. Happened to stumble upon ur blog…Didn’t know it had a name in English as well. In tamil, we call it mannvasanai.. loosely translates to mitti ki khushbu πŸ™‚

I have loved the word ‘petrichor’ ever since I read it somewhere a couple of years back. I had always wanted to use it in one of my poems, and the recent showers in Bangalore inspired me to use it in this poem! πŸ™‚

Thank you so much, RM! You are very kind! πŸ™‚
